Best crowd-surfing I've ever seen! (And I've been to a lot of shows). I just wish I had gotten to the venue sooner and therefore been close enough to the stage to touch her....okay, that sounds creepy- but really almost 70% of the entire audience were guys that seemed to be there by themselves (like me) just gazing at Annie with their jaws opened. AND she's an amazing songwriter and performer! She really gets into the music too- shreds a dirty guitar solo and dives into the crowd. A real musician and performer- what a talented woman!

The best set was last--St. Vincent with a very focused and excellent performance--a fusion of art punk and metal. I'd like to see her in a club without the metal, but the big concert hall cried out for slash and burn metal punkiness, and St. Vincent delivered big time.

I loved the show. I hadn't heard of tune-yards and I ended up buying an album. The singer from tun-yards had an amazing voice (the album doesn't do justice to the singer). Annie Clark is incredibly stunning. Her performance was great. The downside though were the lights. They were constantly flashing. It made it difficult to watch her at times. The lights gave me a headache and left me dizzy. The crowd (aside from the pot-smokers-there were a lot- who surrounded us) were polite. The crowd definitely got excited when Annie Clark went crowd surfing. That was the closest thing to a mosh-pit I'd ever taken part in.

I can't stop thinking about the concert... It all felt surreal... I got to kiss Annie Clark during the crowd surfing... She's a badass! She know how to rock... Highly recommended.

This was a convergence of talent that I couldn't miss. I'd been waiting for a chance to see tUnE-yArDs live for the better part of a year, and this surpassed my expectations. They sound incredible live, and you get to marvel at the way each song is constructed as you watch and listen. Their sound is raw and honest and such a treat to experience first hand. St. Vincent is also incredibly talented and a joy to listen to, but her set seemed more forced. Contrived is too strong a word but that's what comes to mind. I was impressed at the sheer amount of sound she is capable of producing though.

I have seen tUnE-yArDs three times now and this was probably the least overwhelming show of theirs but not because of them. However, that's not to say it was bad. Merrill is always a treat to see. The best is watching her loop the sounds for her songs and watch how it all comes together in the end product. I think the sound in the venue was the biggest issue. The vocals were much too low to pull off the whole effect.

St.Vincent was somehow unaffected though. She sounded amazing. Looking amazing. Though she was hazed out by far too much smoke from the smoke machines. I have seen her a couple times now and am totally impressed by her live shows. She looks and talks like a fragile innocent girl but there is always a sense of menacing flirtation when she's singing and an explosion of violence as she rips the guitar. I don't think many people can imagine the amount of work she does to make the sounds she makes. She makes it all look effortless. Another mind blowing show.

I was so happy with this show. Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards is such a fearless and fabulously quirky performer. Whokill (forgive my laziness with the capitalization, or lack thereof) was one of my favorite albums of 2011, and she seemed truly grateful to be rocking out in Oakland. Good set length for a split show.

St. Vincent was really great too. Impressive heavy sound, great stage presence, unexpectedly easy to groove to. She crowd surfed successfully, which is always worth brownie points to me.

Both of these women are phenomenal musicians! I really came for Tuneyards, because St. Vincent albums all sound pretty similar to me. But seeing her live changes your opinion of her music and her prodigious talent. Frankly, she needs to cut loose in the studio the way she does on stage. At least, release a live album! I loved the eclectic mix.

Tuneyards was predictably excellent. I had seen their coachella video. But St. Vincent started playing and my mind was blown! Anne is amazing, and I'm 41, but listening to her blend of 80s with punk overtones made me 16 again. I loved her live performance. She made me a fan.

I really enjoyed seeing St. Vincent at webster Hall... I could go on and on about how great she was which will take forever. I will say I was disgusted with her roadies behavoir ( I can't say I m 100 percent sure they are HER roadies or Webster Halls people... but I'm 98 percent sure those were her people), usually at the end of the show people go to the front for souveneirs from the stage... one girl asks a roadie " I wanna do what you do, how did you get into doing what you're doing?"... granted she seemed naive and a bit off but she was nice and paid money to be there.... he just laughed right at her and gave her the look one would give a turd... it was so disgustingly rude and for me to feel this angry months later means... he was disgustingly rude. So me being me... I called him a D bag ( the full word) and told him that he could at least give her a two word answer... he just walked away, I think h was embarrased and wasn't expecting anyone to stand up for this girl. The roadies also refused to give out things that were being thrown away anyways... it seemed like they reveled in upsetting people who just wanted a set list or a guitar pick... people who paid money to be there. I also want to say that the bartender at Webster Hall, an attractive male who has an accent was rude, I asked for the cheapest beer he gave me the most expensive one, when I informed him of his mistake he looked like he was about to fix it but then looked at me and said " I already put that beer in there... I can;t just dump it out"... I paid the 9 bucks and didn;t tip him, the girl bartender next to him seemed to want to call him not so nice names... the look on her face made me feel better... she knew he was being nasty. I should of just tipped her instead.

St. Vincent performed at The Phoenix Concert Theatre December 15th to what was probably a sold out crowd and amazed. Annie's on stage live performance was energetic and her backing band played well too. She can play the guitar just as good as any highly trained guitarist can and she shreds too. The light set up was intense and explosive, strobing and awesome. Overall, the show was insane with the various instruments on stage.

Annie and her band put on a spectacular show, performing most of Strange Mercy along with several songs from her previous albums, as well as an incredible cover of The Pop Group's "She's Beyond Good And Evil".

I really encourage you to go see Annie Clark sing, and play guitar and theremin. She is crazy talented. Not to mention, rock-your-world beautiful.

Great long set - not a dull song in the mix. DO NOT let her leave with an encore.

The crowd wasnt very energetic. They finished the set with like 4 songs from 2009. Was weird for them not to finish with material from their giant selling new album which they went on tour for. Left hysterical strength out of their lineup too.
