HOB has been a welcome addition to the Dallas show-scene, and the second time around for Sonic Youth felt as good as the first (2007). If you're looking for hook-ish sing-a-longs and overly friendly small talk from the band, well, keep looking. SY is a pure sound-experience. A good crew keeps Lee, Kim & Thurston well-stocked while they rip through various sets with multiple instrument changes. Those seamless exchanges help maintain a solid wall of rock that can seem almost over-whelming at times. The Eternal is the 2009 release from the band and the tour carries the energy of the album full tilt.
In short: Good venue for a great band.
